An upright T3 halogen-based lamp with a Flexinol spring. The whole opaque upper section lights up with a continuous, diffused glow. When switched off, only the opaque upper section droops. When switched on, that section becomes upright and rigid. The stainless-steel stem and base retain their shape. Light and posture become one visible action.

The material
is the movement.
The Flexinol spring gives the opaque section its change in posture. Below it, the stainless-steel structure stays fixed. A red or black power cable enters the base with exactly the same outer diameter as the tubing, continuing its line in a different material.
